Xarelto Said to Have Caused 12 Deaths in Canada Thus Far
In Canada, Health Canada has received 1,100 reports of adverse effects connected to Xarelto. In 12 cases, death was reported.
Xarelto is an anticoagulant used to prevent stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation. The drug has been aggressively marketed by Bayer as a replacement medication for Warfarin. The problem is that there is no antidote to stop bleeding when it occurs with patients taking Xarelto.
